Urgent Care

What is urgent care? How is it different from emergency care?

Urgent care vet clinics typically see patients who need to be seen within a few days of the start of a problem, such as an ear infection, diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, decreased appetite, lameness, and many others.

Urgent care clinics do not see true emergencies such as bloat (GDV), hemoabdomen (internal abdominal bleeding), respiratory distress, and other similar cases.

Because we do not see emergency cases, we are able to prioritize our schedule for the patients who come to see us. This schedule keeps our work on time and wait times to a minimum (often eliminating them altogether).

In an emergency, we will stabilize your pet so they may be transferred to an ER as safely as possible.

Our client care coordinators will talk with you on the phone when you call to set up an appointment. They’ll ask questions to see if your pet is right for urgent care. If your pet needs immediate care, they’ll help you find another clinic. This will help make sure pets get the right care at the right time.
